110 Crime Projects

  Crime prevention charity the Kent People’s Trust has now supported 110 community safety projects in Kent. In its latest round of grants the Trust provided funding for-
 
 
  • The Gillingham 133 Drop in Centre which aims to provide drug prevention and sex education to young people in Gillingham
  • Dartford South Area Residents Association who are planning a series of road safety road shows on estates that are suffering from inconsiderate driving
  • The Chatham Women's Support Service by funding their welfare fund which provides cash support for taxi fares etc for women in danger of domestic violence
  • An Anti Social Behaviour Academy to be held at Detling by the youth and for the youth of Kent in an attempt to get over the pointlessness of Anti Social Behaviour
  • The Grey Zebra Drugs Education Project which has for many years successfully dispensed advice to parents and schoolchildren across many Kent secondary schools
  • The Dartford & Gravesham Women's Refuges to allow them to install CCTV cameras to further protect their already vulnerable residents
  • Folkestone Safer Shopping Mark 2. The Safer Shopping schemes continue to flourish and reduce town centre crime
  • A Kent Domestic Violence Standardised Training Module which will attempt to pull together all the good work being done to combat Domestic Violence
  • 20000 More No Canvassers: No Callers stickers so that Bogus Callers find it even harder to prey on the vulnerable
  • The Encams Drug Litter Re search Project – which will help us identify the dangers of discarded syringes etc in our public places and educate those responsible on hoe to safely dispose of them
