'The Fighting Chance programme has shown me that I can achieve things and be proud of what I do. Before it I spend my time looking for trouble in the park"

We work with you to make Kent safer
In 2000 a group of public and private organisations, led by Kent Police, recognised the need to help prevent crime before it started. They wanted local people to be able to help themselves so set up a trust to distribute funds to help people tackle the causes of crime in their communities. Since then, the Trust has donated over £500, 000 to local projects in Kent and Medway.
We work with a wide range of individuals and organisations providing everything from youth clubs to security advice for the elderly, graffiti cleanup to CCTV for women’s refuges, youth mentoring to drug rehabilitation schemes. These projects help prevent crime, and genuinely improve the safety and well being of local communities.
We have supported projects across the county from Chatham and Tunbridge Wells, to New Romney and Margate.
Wherever people are working together to make Kent a safer, happier and better place to live, the Kent People’s Trust is working alongside them. The photo above show how, with a grant from the Trust young people on Sheppey worked on reducing vulnerability in their community
